Families often reach out because they are looking for answers. They may have questions about communication, learning, academic progress, or social development. Many families feel overwhelmed by information, unsure where to begin, or uncertain how to make sense of recommendations from multiple sources.
My role is to help families find clarity and move forward with confidence.
Understanding the Whole Child
Every child is more than a diagnosis, test score, or list of challenges. I believe it's essential to recognize each child's strengths, interests, relationships, and unique qualities alongside the areas where they need support.
Before recommendations are made, before goals are written, and before therapy begins, it's important to know the whole child. That perspective creates the foundation for meaningful support, thoughtful decision-making, and lasting progress.
Partnering with Families for More Than 25 years
For more than 25 years, I have partnered with children, families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams across schools, clinical settings, and private practice.
Those experiences have reinforced what I have always believed: the best outcomes happen when families feel heard, supported, and equipped with the knowledge they need to move forward with confidence.
Serving as Director of the Learning Resource Center at La Jolla Country Day School gave me the opportunity to partner closely with students, families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to support a wide range of communication and learning needs. That experience reinforced what I have long believed: communication and learning are deeply connected. By looking beyond individual concerns to understand how language, literacy, executive functioning, attention, and school success interact, I help families gain clarity, recognize each child's unique strengths, and identify the support that will have the greatest impact.
Whether I am conducting an evaluation, providing consultation, collaborating with a school team, or supporting a child through therapy, my goal remains the same—to help families gain a deeper understanding of their child and create a thoughtful path forward.

What Success Means
I don't believe in one-size-fits-all recommendations. Every child is different, every family has unique priorities, and meaningful support should reflect both.
One of the most rewarding parts of my work is helping families move from uncertainty to clarity. Seeing parents recognize strengths they hadn't fully appreciated. Helping families and educators develop a shared understanding of a child's needs. Watching children grow in confidence as they experience success.
Success isn't measured by how long a family works with me.
Success is measured by what they carry with them after our work together—the understanding, confidence, and tools to support their child moving forward.
